Not every city in the world is the same when it comes to the best places to stay.  When choosing your accommodations, it can often be a toss-up as you weigh out all of your options.  Without taking a look at all of the different factors individually, you may not have all of the information you need to make the best decision possible.

If you’re looking at choosing between different options of where to stay in when you go on your next vacation, here are some of the most important things that you should be taking into consideration when making your final decision.

Price

Airbnb first became popular because it was considerably cheaper than staying in a hotel.  However, now, the home sharing website is so in demand now that people have started increasing their prices more and more.

In some cities, the price of Airbnb’s far outweighs the price of hotels.  You may find that the cost of a hotel may be much cheaper if you look at specific areas just slightly off the beaten path.

Even though once upon a time it may have been a better deal finding an Airbnb it’s no longer always the case.

Location

In some cases, hotels may be much more affordable. However, if you look at the map of an area, you’ll see why.  Often hotel districts are highly concentrated tourist traps which aren’t full of much culture or exciting things other than hotels.

However, if you find an Airbnb which is in a place which is in the heart of a city you may have a much more authentic experience. Always check the map of a place and note where the ideal location is to hang out.

Amenities

It’s important to read all of the amenities which are included in the place you intend to stay. If amenities are important to you like a swimming pool or massage services, then you should probably opt for a hotel.

However, if you’re more interested in the service of a local guide who can help recommend the best spots for an authentic and enriching experience, then an Airbnb works better for some others.

Rules

A lot of people fail to read all of the fine print on an Airbnb when making their reservation.  It’s crucial that you know exactly what you’re getting into so that you can avoid making costly mistakes like inviting extra guests which may be against the rules.

Often failing to comply with the terms of your rental contract will result in having to pay extra fees. You’re better off reading the terms carefully before committing to an agreement.  Rushing into making a decision quickly usually means costly results.
