A story about "Women of the Bible: Deborah's Story: A Novel (Women of the Bible)" — 1 year ago

    WORTH CONSUMING!

This was a fictional account based on the Deborah from the Bible. Most of the book was pure fiction, not anything that could even be confirmed in the Biblical story. But it was interesting anyway. In this account, Deborah is born a slave and has a very difficult life living among the Canaanites. She has visions and is able to see the truth about others. She overhears a plot by her master to kill a Hebrew trader that is buying sheep from him. She risks her life to warn this fellow Hebrew. This starts a spiral chain of events that leads to her freedom and her return to Israel where she becomes the next judge and helps Barak defeat the Canaanite army.

Though most of the story is fictional, it is interesting to read about what life was like back in those days and to speculate what it must have been like to be a woman and called to lead and direct her fellow countryman.
