    WORTH CONSUMING!

i dunno..ive liked wes anderson’s last couple movies more than the first, but still..i find it strange i seem to have to make a conscious decision whether i liked it or not. theres plenty of really likable parts, whether it be the background or a camera technique, but i find that the actual storyline of most of his movies are just about whiny rich white kids. and i dont have to go to a movie to put up with that petulant shit.

style over substance. thats the argument. anderson is notorious for not being able to craft characters that create any kind of emotional response from the audience. he gets a little bit closer here, but still, i cant help the feeling that the actors are winking at one another when theyre out of the frame. i just cant take anyone seriously. i still just..dont care. as in dont care if they live or die. either way, its just a plot device. a means to some insipid end.
see, this is how it is! i start off generally liking anderson’s films, but the more i think and talk about them, the more bitchy i become. bah.

like a chinese deer hunter, but more cheezy.

    WORTH CONSUMING!

ok, this game is freakin addictive. it reminds me of streets of rage, that old beat em up, except more awesome. the driving part is a bit boring, but other than that, its really really fun. everyone who owns a wii should play this.

    WORTH CONSUMING!

took a break from this for awhile, back in full force, playing at least an hour a night. im amazed at how the combat, though really simplistic, is being evolved and how mashing the a button hasnt gotten boring. all in all, fantastic game. im in 5th place.

    WORTH CONSUMING!

finished it up last night. i was throwing the controller around for awhile though, tryin to beat the last guy. pick view the real ending though, i dont even know why they put the other option. meh. i might go back through and play it again on bitter, maybe. but not for awhile. i have too many other games to play.
major complaints: driving= hella boring. and the missions? all you do is the same fucking mission over and over again! couldnt he bother to change it up every now and then meh. but really, thats about it. the learning curve was great, it finally got difficult after awhile, and it was just a blast to play.

blah. blah. blah. i love heist movies, but jesus this one was lame. if you want to just completely suspend belief, then you will enjoy it. otherwise, if you have a sense of logic or reason, and are actually able to figure things out and think for yourself, go watch something better. like the sting.

so overall, i liked this, although i thought i could hear sean penn too many times. as for the actual story..to me, the guy just seemed selfish. bratty. yea, it was probably a phase, but shit, it was a phase that ended up getting him killed. and did he ever really forgive his parents? what a turd.

    WORTH CONSUMING!

its funny, ive read some reviews of this movie, and it seems a lot of people hate it! well, netflix users anyway.
i really enjoyed this movie. wait, i’ll bet im supposed to call it a film, arent i.
i really enjoyed this film. john c. reilly is a fantastic actor, able to pull off the nuanced humor of this film, and philip baker hall..just…wow. the ending was a bit anti-climatic, but supposed to be that way, i know. samuel l. jackson only really seems to know how to play one character, but its amazing how well it works all the time. and gwyneth paltrow was actually very good.
i didnt really know what to expect from this film, but i was pleasantly surprised. yea, the plot twists werent very crazy or anything, but..but i think that was almost the point. the whole story is told from sidney’s perspective, a world-weary guy, and everything just seems to be..pale to him. anyway, this is a good movie, just watch it.

    WORTH CONSUMING!

this was a nice, tight little movie. i thought the ending was a bit..weird, dramatic, and the interaction of the couple committing adultery was a bit..comfortable. their story didnt really seem to fit. but i really liked the flashbacks, and was impressed with bob odenkirk’s direction. the cameos were all fantastic, wanted more david cross though. overall, a nice little movie.

what a great little game. at first it seems like a kids game, but there is so much humor that i dont think kids would get that it is obviously intended for a bit of an older audience.

uh..for real? i’m the only one that bought this. i doubt it. i guess everyone else is at home playing it. turds. im at work.

    WORTH CONSUMING!

welp. i just dont know what to say about this movie. it went back and forth from being really cool to really lame. overall, i guess its worth a watch. some really good visuals, good ideas. i’ll watch daywatch now, so i guess its that successful. but not with my girlfriend. so its that unsuccessful.

on thing i will say though: if vampires were gonna exist anywhere on earth, it’d totally be in russia. blecch.
