Conflicted — 2 years ago
There were two major problems with this book for me. First, I really am not a fan of Elizabeth Gilbert’s writing style. It’s a bit self-absorbed and self-consciously postured, and though this book is not about her, she goes into these tangents regarding her own personality, taste in men, etc, that I find very annoying. Problem #2 is that Eustace Conway is a deeply flawed, self-righteous individual himself. Yet, even despite of disliking both the author and her subject, I found Conway’s story incredibly interesting.
