A story about "From My Front Porch" — 1 year ago

author Minnie Dix. I met Minnie Dix in the mall one night while I was tired with achy feet. Allan and I were waiting for TJ to get off work while we were just walking through the mall.

When I saw her, she immediately looked familiar to me. I still don’t know why she looked familiar to me. She said the same thing about me.

We chatted a bit and realized we share the same hometown, Sumter, SC. We didn’t know each from home, but the conversation was still refreshing and receiving the homegirl energy from her was all I needed to make it through the rest of the evening with that extra pep in my step.

    Children's Books — 1 year ago

    WORTH CONSUMING!

are my favorite books to read. Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon is another of my favorite children’s books.

I think it is ironic that just yesterday I wrote an entry entitled I Stand So Tall. Then I took Allan to the book fair at his school and this book popped out at me. Of course I had to buy it. I have never heard of the book before yesterday.

Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon is an inspiring story about a little girl whose grandma teaches her to embrace her flaws and use them as strengths. Reminds me of my own mother who often quotes, “Always think highly of yourself dear. Because if you don’t nobody will.”

The illustrations in this book are vivid, fun, exagerrated, colorful and beautiful.

Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon is a must read for children, teenagers and adults.
