A story about "Liverpool Street" — 1 year ago
Liverpool Street station is on the Central Line and is also a national rail station. I came here to get a train to Cambridge to visit a friend and go to an exhibition.

Holborn, in central London, is on the Central and Piccadilly lines. I’ve been here a few times – on this occasion I was going to a nearby pub, the Princess Louise.
After getting on at Great Portland Street, I got off at Royal Oak station to go and see a production of Uncle Vanya at the Print Room Theatre, which was excellent.
I got on at Great Portland Street, on the Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City and Circle lines, on my way to the theatre one night after work. I’d never been to this part of London before, so it was really interesting.
I got off at Sudbury Town and walked up to Sudbury Hill station. The area is mainly residential.
This is Sudbury Town, just up from Alperton. There wasn’t much to see here – it was mainly a residential area.
Alperton, on the Piccadilly line. This is a strongly Indian area and there’s a really beautiful Hindu temple being built just up the road.
Rayners Lane station is on a hill in north west London, and is where the Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines meet. This was also the 100th station I visited – very exciting!
This is North Ealing on the Piccadilly line. I liked this station – it looked like somebody’s house!
There isn’t much to see at Park Royal, just up from North Ealing, but there is a Vue cinema and there are also several restaurants, such as Pizza Hut and Nando’s.
For good measure I’ve added a second photo of this station, taken from the platform to show the protruding chimney-like bit at the top.
After walking along Chiswick High Road, I got on the Tube at Stamford Brook.
I got off at Baron’s Court and wandered around the Victorian cemetery there.
After walking around the cemetery, I got on the train at West Kensington.
This is Chiswick Park, on the District line. I got off here and walked down Chiswick High Road, where there are lots of good charity shops and a cheap bookshop.
This is Brent Cross station in north London. I came here to go to the Brent Cross shopping centre, which was unimpressively small.
This is Golders Green station, on the Northern line. I came here to go to Kenwood House, an English Heritage property on Hampstead Heath. Unfortunately, the weather was awful on the day I went.
This is Hendon Central, which is on the Northern line and is also near Brent Cross. I was a bit fed up by this time as it was a horrible cold, rainy day, so that was my last station for the day!
