  3. Santa Fe Style (Skira Library of Architecture) by Christine Mather
note: The author is married to this man I met just recently. He owns a shop in Santa Fe, near the plaza, and we shared a longish conversation about Ann Arbor, Columbus, Santa Fe, Albequerque, and Taos. He told me that his wife wrote this book that I was looking at in his shop. I think I borrowed it from the library once before. The photos were amazing.

  4. Broken Windows: Graffiti NYC by James T. Murray
note: I've borrowed this from the library on my last trip there the other day, and I flipped through it. The pictures are pretty good, but the main value is in the text. There is a lot of information about graffiti, writers, taggers, bombers, nyc...

  5. Street Graphics New York by Barry Dawson
note: I just borrowed this from the library. It looks AWESOME. There are shots of tattoos, storefronts, clubs, walls, billboards, neon signs, graffiti, and all of the messages that vie for your attention in this place I have never been able to visit, NYC.

  6. Death Certificate by Ice Cube

  7. Shantaram (Spanish) (Spanish Edition) by Gregory David Roberts

  8. Creepers by David Morrell
note: I just borrowed this from the library too, after meeting someone online who is into urban exploration. I've always been into old buildings, being in places I am not supposed to be, exploring, adventuring, but I've never thought of it as a club. The urban explorers today are definitely part of a club. It's pretty cool, and I love learning about new subcultures.

  9. Santa Fe Houses by Christine Mather
note: I met this author's husband while I was visting Santa Fe recently, and I enjoyed our conversation about Ann Arbor, Santa Fe, Albequerque, Taos, and Columbus, Ohio. When he noticed me peering at a display of books, including this one, in his store, where I met him, he asked if I had read any of those books. He said that they are very good books and that "my wife wrote them."

  10. Man Corn: Cannibalism and Violence in the Prehistoric American Southwest by Christy G. Turner II
note: I have heard of the cannibalism for social control theory about the Chaco Canyon people, but having just recently visited New Mexico and missed the chance to visit Chaco, I am now really obsessed with Southwestern Archaeology. This book is one on my list, right now, but it will have to wait until I finish the five books I borrowed from the library, on Santa Fe.

  11. The Predator by Ice Cube
note: I'm in the mood for some mothafoggin gangsta rap!

  12. MaƱana by Willie & Lobo

  13. Echoes of Forgotten Places by Robert Fantinatto
note: I borrowed this DVD from the library and watched it that night. It wasn't spectacular, but it was still pretty good. I liked hearing the opinions and reflections of people who explore these old, abandoned, places. I loved the extra documentary on how steel was made in the beginning of the century. That was one of the coolest things I have seen for a while.
