Let The Right One In

I liked the simple plot and the simple setting. Very european. The kids were really good. The girl that played Eli was very interesting. Would like to read the book to learn more about the character of Eli. I am not looking forward to the americanized version of the story. I heard the idiot that made Cloverfield is going to do it.

Notes on a Scandal

Judy Dench so awesome in this movie. I love to see ordinarily sweet actresses/actors play bad people. I think it makes the role even more scary to watch. And Cate Blanchett was awesome too. Both characters do despicable things because of their loneliness. Even Bill Nighy the husband was good as Sheba’s husband. He didn’t have a lot of scenes and he had to hold his own with Cate and Judy I still remember his role.

Siren of the Tropics

I enjoyed the movie Josephine Baker Story with Lynn Whitfield. I have seen the photos, heard the stories and really admired her. This was the first time I had seen an actual movie with her in it. Now I can see why the french people loved her. She had so much energy and life. It was like watching a kid having fun. It was so cool to see a black woman being glamorous in a silent film. The special features were also really enlightening to watch.

Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail (Widescreen Edition)

This wasn’t one of Tyler Perry’s best movies. It took so long for the two storylines (Madea’s and Candi’s) to finally meet up. Plus the story itself is nothing like the stage play. I know the studio make Tyler do some rewrites to his stories in order to make the movie more appealling to a wider audience but this was a complete rewrite of the original.
I suggest seeing the original Madea Goes to Jail stage play DVD rather than seeing this movie. The play is so much better.
Plus Keshia Knight Pullam needs to get better roles. This is the second time I’ve seen her play a whore and I’m already tired of it.
