Slow build but drops the ball at the end — 1 year ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Spencer is really good at writing historical romances but her contemporary stuff is lame. I loved The Gamble, The Endearment, and Hummingbird. But when she starts setting her plots anytime after the 1900’s her plotlines just fizzle out. The pace of the book is very slow which is understandable because of the female characters virginity but end result just fizzled out. The sexual tension was more interesting than the final resolution. Also the male character needed more development. Looking back on the story there was very little known about his background beyond his not having family and being in the military.

Carell + Fey=no chemistry — 1 year ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Carell and Fey apart from this movie are witty and funny ordinarily but here they flopped. I didn’t believe they were married at all. I don’t know if it was the writing or they just didn’t connect. O.K. movie for passing the time other than that don’t get your hopes up to high.

A story about "Quarantine" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

If you take it for what it is, a zombie, gore,“ha made you jump” docu-horror film then its pretty good. But if you are looking for some more cerebral psychological thriller I would look someplace else. At least jay hernandez is it (cutie pie)

Excellent film — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Frank Darabont did an excellent job translating the human side of Stephen King’s writing. He also did Shawshank Redemption another excellent work.

Cool bio of a Cool Lady — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Before reading this bio I had just finished reading a couple of other star bios involving drug abuse, suicide attempts, bad childhoods and such. So it was a welcomed break to read a story about a movie star that was very grounded despite being in Hollywood. Her life wasn’t perfect (cancer, rapes, bad relationships, etc.) but she has weathered it well and with dignity. The book was a good and easy read. She did tell some stories about her relationships with Richard Pryor and Kareem Abdul Jabar but she did it in a way that didn’t demean or exploit them in the process.

Good but not his best work. — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Leslie Gorenstein (aka the Answer Bitch from her E Online podcast) hilariously referred to this movie as “Reservoir Jews” and she was right. Quentin is starting to copy himself a little. I liked the fact that he used a lot of unknown foreign actors. They were really good. Brad Pitt was a little annoying but tolerable.

I thought it was better than the first one — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It definitely had more comical scenes than the previous movie. But it also had some really deep heavy scenes too. This was the ugliest I have ever seen Janet Jackson look. I wasn’t too sure about her acting though. I saw it in a movie theater and people were sort of laughing at her when she was going through her breakdown. I would like to watch the movie again (without background snickering) to really get an opinion.

My favorite types of ghost stories — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

These ghost stories were more haunting than scary. They show that ghosts don’t always jump out and scare you. It showed a good variety of situations and plots so the whole thing wasn’t monotonous. Plus many of the stories featured a female main character which was good to see especially in the stories by Edith Wharton.

Ok. Not my generation. — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It was an ok movie. I think the hype behind it comes from the sense of nostalgia it brings up in that generation that saw the movie. But even though I wasn’t around for this stuff, I liked some of the songs, Harrison Ford was cute as HELL when he was young and the cars were cool. Good American culture reference at best.

A lot more involved than the movie. — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Aside from the horror of a town being taken over by vampires. I loved the side stories of people of the town. King shows that sometimes horror isn’t just the monster in the closet but also a part of our so called humanity.
