WORTH CONSUMING!

An interesting theory about the development of the domestic dog. Should be read back to back with Merle’s Door.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I can’t believe it took me so many years to get to reading this book.

WORTH CONSUMING!

“Challenges the present consensus…Monstrously energetic, greatly imaginative, large-minded and generous-hearted, occasionally grotesquely unfair, but almost always pointing in the right direction.” -American Spectator

I don’t normally agree with the American Spectator, and I’m sure I’m agreeing with this quote for the complete opposite as the reviewer. For the most part a good concise history of the American people. However biased very much towards WASP conservatism. For example, Harding was misunderstood, according to the author, whereas FDR was nothing but a philandering charlatan.

Worth reading if you can stomach conservative pap. An interesting insight into the neoconservative thought process. Not only do we have to consume all the world’s resources, but according to the author, we also have to out-breed the rest of the world. Every good conservative should get busy having a litter of children, (according to the author). And don’t name any of them Mohammad. Stick with Billy, Carl, Bob, Sue….you get the picture… If the statistics can be trusted (I’m not saying they can) it is sort of a terrifying thought that by 2050 more than half of Europe will be of Arab descent and of a radical Muslim faith. I personally believe the decadence of the West will corrupt/convert most Arabs in Europe to Western secularism although I am not sure that Mr.Steyn would even agree that this is a good thing. I’m pretty sure people of his ilk will not be happy until the entire world is populated by Conservative Christians i.e. members of the evangelical Protestant faith. The author wants thinks God wants you to be fruitful and prosperous; not necessarily thoughtful, kind, or caring.

WORTH CONSUMING!

As a fallen Catholic and a borderline agnostic, this book scares the crap outta me.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Oh well. I’ll take Brian’s word for it…but I’m not sure Frank wanted to go that way. Worth reading though its singing in the choir.
