People generally don’t seem to like this one much; it’s very synth-heavy and probably sounds pretty dated at this point, and the lyrics aren’t anything amazing. Even so, it’s my very favorite album of Depeche Mode’s. It’s one of those albums where all the songs just fit together perfectly and nothing seems out of place. It’s not poppy like a lot of their early stuff; instead it’s got this nice, dark, moody feel to it that I just love. It may be in large part due to nostalgia, but this album will forever be in my top 10.
