Banks at his finest. I really liked Consider Phlebas, but I think this book is better. And it is interesting, how the story builds up. Really a good book, worth reading.

So it is a book about parenting – I do not think you are suprised by this. But considering that i am not a parent, and that I do not want to be one, this could be some very interesting choice of book for me…

So I’ve read the hungarian version, which is only the 40% of the original. According to the book, the parts that missing are usually those events happend outside Europe. It is still an interesting read, and it is not just entertaining, because Churchill was really one of the most influental figures of the 20th century.

This book is more fictional than factual. Although the caracters are real people, lived in the seventeenth century Nederlands.
An artist and his family hires a young girl, to be a maid, and we can have a view of them through her eyes. And of course, we’ve got to know the story behind the picture.

This is an awesome work of Miyazaki’s, and i could watch it about a month ago. We had to wait for it a long time (here in Hungary, i mean), but it really worthed it! I hope, i could read the original book – there is no hungarian translation there yet.
