Why is David Adams Richards not famous already as the greatest writer of his time?

What a fanstastic book! Rich, multi-dimensional characters. Enduring themes. Beautiful writing that is poetic but never over-written. And a real, edge-of-your-seat mystery, with a totally satisfying ending.

Good grief! Read this one for sure!

Wow! This is an exceptional piece of fiction. It contains the kind big vision, strong moral theme, and well-crafted symbolism that is found in the great books all within an always very readable, compelling, and beautifully crafted storyline.

Half way through reading this book, I bought every other book by David Adams Richards that I could get my hands on.
