Considering my “mother-in-law” gave me this book to read, it was depressing to read about relationship problems. And I couldn’t help asking myself what was the message she was trying to give me, even if she didn’t have one. :P
This has been interesting, to say the least. I’m not really in touch with my “inner self” (I’m a member of the “I’d love to work hard to reach my dreams, if I only had any dreams!” club), so it was useful to do the exercises and find ways to listen to the not-so-rational part of myself. The second part of the book, describing the path through change, wasn’t as useful, but I’m sure it would come handy at times of difficulties and sudden changes. I find this is not really a book to read and be done with it – I’m guessing I’d reap bigger rewards if I reread it every now and then, doing all the exercises again.
All in all, highly recommended.
This is a nice book, with lots of interesting thoughts on and first-hand experiences of spiritual enlightenment, and I believe some people would love it, but boy oh boy, it bored me to tears. (I don’t know what was I thinking when buying it, as I’m pretty much aware that I’m not a spiritual type.) I had to give up after the first third. I’ll leaf through the rest of the book today to see if anything catches my attention so I can say I’ve given it a fair chance. But as far as I’m concerned, I’ve read it and consumed it and that’s it.
If anyone more spiritual than me wants it, send me your address.
I stretched the last bits of Dream Cream for as long as I could, but sadly, I faced an empty cup yesterday. Today I learned my local Lush shop is out of it and won’t get a new shipment till the end of January!! A sad day indeed.
Viewers who’ve grown up on Pixar’s and Disney’s pretty characters may not like the style of the animation. But this is a sweet, funny story, aimed at kids, but with enough funny moments for the adults to enjoy.
This shower gel, made by a local, Slovenian company is one of the loveliest-smelling shower gels I’ve ever tried! I simply adore the scent! I also like their Pina Colada and Spicy Orange gels, but this is the best one. (Haven’t tried the newest – Apple Pie – yet, though. Will have to remedy that soon!)
I took me forever to finish this. Partly because it’s an audiobook, and I only listened to it while running. But mostly because it was getting on my nerves. All the scientific explanations from the aliens that tied up nicely with the medieval “natural philosophy” from the priest, it sounded like the author was saying “oooh, look at me, I’m so smart for pulling this off”. I kept imagining an arrogant jerk with a smirk on his face. Urgh.
I liked the ending though. :)
Delightfully silly, but a bit dragged out in the second part, the violent one.
Oily and foamy and surprisingly good all at the same time. :)
