Why I recommend "Beyond The Missouri Sky (Short Stories)"

Beyond The Missouri Sky (Short Stories)

by Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny

Highly recommended for jazz piano lovers in the same vein as the Oscar Peterson Trio. More than anything else, I have to say that this album is contemplative. Excellent for listening to in the quiet times at the end of the day!

Why I recommend "Gates of Fire: An Epic Novel of the Battle of Thermopylae"

Gates of Fire: An Epic Novel of the Battle of Thermopylae

by Steven Pressfield

So many stories become page turners because we wish to find out how the events ended. In Pressfield’s Gates of Fire, there is no surprise: the 300 Spartan Peers die in defense of the pass of Thermopylae. The power of this story comes instead from the amazing acts of heroism and brotherhood the main characters exhibit. A story of duty and sacrifice, the book tackles the universal themes of brotherhood, love, fear, and above all, honor in a thought-provoking and memorable manner. Highly recommended!

Why I recommend "The Alchemist (Plus)"

The Alchemist (Plus)

by Paulo Coelho

This is an extraordinarily well-written novel dealing with the nature of wisdom and our place in the universe. A young Shepard is spurred to find his treasure, traveling across the desert and back to reveal what his Personal Legend really was. Its level of insight puts it on par with The Five People You Meet in Heaven or The Giver. Highly recommended!
