The Books Are Always Better — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Of course the book was better but it was still a good movie. They did a good job condensing it (even though it was still long) but staying true the main points of the story.

Started Off Great — 2 years ago

The first season of this series was probably one of the best TV shows I’ve seen. But in the second season, it quickly went downhill. I’ve never seen something go from so good to so bad so quickly. They started focusing too much on Joan and not enough on her missions to help other people.

Best unknown band ever — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s such a shame this album didn’t get more exposure. It’s one of the best debut albums I’ve ever heard. And unfortunately the band has now long been split up. They recorded a second album but it never got released.

Classic — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a classic coming of age book for young girls. My Mom gave it to me when I was starting puberty and maybe someday I’ll give it to my future daughter. Although I read the original version which meant it was a little outdated, it was still a great introduction to growing up as a girl. I don’t actually remember there being much about God or religion in it. “God” serves more as Margaret’s diary, a way to work things out in her head and heart.

Very Amateur — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I’ll admitt I never actually finished this book. The writing style seemed very amateur but I was willing to overlook that for the sake of a good story. However, early on in the book, there is a fairly significant editing error made and I felt I couldn’t continue with such a poorly written and poorly edited story. Surely a reader can expect some level of professionalism?

Great Take On The Classic Legend — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I read this book and it’s sequel ( http://www.allconsuming.net/item/view/1335396 ) when I was a teen and I fell in love with not only the books but also the Arthurian Legend.

It is told from Guinevere’s point of view, in first person, which perhaps gives it a more unique perspective. Although the story deviates in certain places from the original legend, it’s easy to forgive the author a creative license to give you an enjoyable and well written take on the classic story.

A review of "Labyrinth" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is another grail quest but personally, I don’t think one can compare it to The Da Vinci Code in terms of which is better or worse. They have very few similarities and are both good and bad in their own ways.

Although there were a few times when I felt like the politics involved in it were dragging on a bit, overall the story was very interesting and kept me wanting to know the secret of the grail and what happens in the end.

I liked the way the story is told, from two different time periods that are connected. Some of the character development was good, some was lacking. There are some concepts that require some mild belief in the “supernatural” or maybe spiritual (there are some physic-like moments) which is fine with me but some people can’t get past it.

I think both Da Vinci Code lovers and haters can appreciate this story.

A story about "American diner breakfast" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

One thing I miss about the US while living in the UK is the American style breakfasts. Some places, like Frankie & Benny’s do some “American Pancakes” for brunch but there’s no Waffles or French Toast. Plus you only get Canadian Bacon! Might as well just eat ham! Oh I can’t wait to go back to the States and get some real breakfast!
