Meh...

House, M.D. - Season One

I liked the first couple episodes, but after that they all seem to have too many common elements. I can predict 75% of each episode based solely on what’s happened in prior episodes. As an RN, I really struggled with this show, too. I mean, I know it’s TV and therefore inaccurate, but I can handle (LOVE, in fact) shows like ER and SCRUBS because while they’re inaccurate at least they’re GRIPPING and/or amusing. House just didn’t do it for me. Can we all just shout out “He’s having a seizure!” together? Right now? Cuz yeah, it would TOTALLY make me feel better about having wasted my time on this show. :)

Not up to Christopher Moore standards

Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings (Today Show Book Club #25)

by Christopher Moore

It was okay, but I really had to slog through it at times. Too much scientific stuff and not enough funny stuff. I’d suggest any of his other books before tackling this one. I had such high hopes, because I’m a total Christopher Moore fanatic, and what’s not to love about a whale with “BITE ME” written on it’s fluke? Ah well, even the great writers have a semi-dud once in a while. On to the next Christopher Moore book (I’m actually in the middle of Bloodsucking Fiends right now, and enjoying it).

Too long (rated 3 stars)

Younger Next Year: A Guide to Living Like 50 Until You're 80 and Beyond

by Chris Crowley

I like the science behind it, and the authors make it really user-accessible (understandable to just about everyone, I’d think)... but it just drags on… and on… and on. Ok, I got your point. Exercise more. I got about 1/3 through and just couldn’t keep slogging through it any more. Good info, just too much of it. Like this review, heh.
