A story about "The Children of Dynmouth (Penguin Modern Classics)" — 2 years ago
when I was a teenager I saw a film on TV late one night called The Children of Dynmouth and I really really liked it. It has never been shown again, it’s impossible to find, it’s not even listed on Imdb. I found out it was based on a book, by William Trevor and I really wanted to read it. Years and years went by and I could never get a copy of this book. I worked in libraries for a few years and had access to millions of books in libraries all over Australia and nobody had it. it was long out of print and forgotten.
So I forgot about this book. I gave up looking for a long time.
Then last week I was in a second hand bookstore and there it was! A NEW copy too. They had a few of them. So I bought it immediately and went home and read it. I wasn’t disappointed. This book was as good as I expected it to be. When I finished I read it again. You know when you finish a great book you want to read something as good as that, and if you can’t find one then you just read it again. This is one of those books.
