A story about "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (rack) (Narnia)" — 4 years ago

The Pevensies, with Eustace, join Capsian aboard the Dawn Treader as it sails east to the edge of the world in search of missing kings and a mouse’s prophecy. Chapters form vignettes, making the book good reading for a child’s story-time. Nautical descriptions and theological depth provide a rich foundation unequaled by the glut of Potter-esque “fantasy for kids.”

A story about "Being and Time: A Translation of Sein and Zeit (SUNY series in Contemporary Continental Philosophy)" — 4 years ago

Heidegger’s seminal and most important work. It has influenced philosophical and theological discourse since its 1927 publication beyond accounting. An obtuse and difficult book to read, one should supplement one’s reading with book-summaries as well as papers and notes scattered throughout the WWW.

A story about "Coming of the Kingdom" — 4 years ago

The best introduction to the theology of the Synoptic Gospels (if not the Scripture itself). I can’t recommend it highly enough. New insights on every page & not too academic.

A story about "The Great Passion: An Introduction to Karl Barth's Theology" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

The best introduction to the theology of Karl Barth. Eberhard Busch knew Barth personally, and has a command over the entirety of Barth’s work. A review of his major works follows the bibliographic section. The lion’s share of the work are chapters devoted to specific aspects of Barth’s thinking, such as: election, justification, Israel, pneumatology, time.
