I should have understood this when first I read it … and taken some more notice; a brillant book, but don’t come here for a confessional, read it for real intelligence.
I’ve no idea what 30 bucks has to do with it. But it’s cheaper at the Safari Bookshelf than going to a revision teacher…
It’s fun, clever, very witty. Several stories in one. I’ve read it before so know the end is a rotten cop-out, but getting there is so enjoyable!

This book is among others I find essential to an understanding of the music industry, where the issues are rarely clear-cut. It’s quite a tough read, but will become a reference.
This is a mixed blessing. The book’s excellent and clear; moreover, there’s now a 3rd edition open to perusal—or even purchase—on the Safari Bookshelf.
The downside is needing such books at all, along with a host of web sites apart from Apple’s own many support pages, because the company has dropped the practice of producing good and lucid maintenance manuals itself.

Studying parts of this again is deep background to what you get on the site itself.

Alongside her autobiography, Jamison engages in a superb study of the ties between mental instability, manic depression and milder disorders, as both ‘insider’ and therapist. I once found it very helpful; now I identify strongly with it and am also reading it in relation to music studies.
