True.

But sometimes it’s the representation of these cliches that makes the difference.

Excellent film.

I never thought I would actually. I was prepared to be snooty and all intellectual, but this movie took all my pretensions and scattered them in the wind.

It made me giggle, it made me laugh out loud, it made me re-examine my life (and my bank statement), it made me cry…because it made me miss my Dad.

I’m glad I watched this film.

Hamilton

Anita Blake is more likable in this book compared to other ones. To be honest, I’ve grown weary of Hamilton’s series because she seems to be covering the lack of plot with sex, sex and more sex. This book though, is a definite improvement than the earlier ones. Although not very good compared to her earlier works, it has at least a semblance of a story. And not just an outlet for her to write about her sexual fantasies.

Worth It... (rated 5 stars)

Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly

by Anthony Bourdain

is an understatement. I’ve been looking for a copy of this book for a long time. Mainly because I have a huge crush on Anthony Bourdain. So it wasn’t really about his prose. But I’m glad to say that he did not disappoint.

If I had to use a word to describe this book, it would be cool. It was straightforward, wry, snarky as hell, and even funny at times. Bourdain’s personality leaps from the pages. And I found myself grinning and nodding like an idiot while reading some of the passages because, he can make you relate to what he has written. And I’m not even a cook. Nor do I have plans of becoming one.

This book solidified his coolness in my heart.

The authour has a way of transporting you to the place he’s describing. However, this book can sometines overwhelm you with too many details and too many perspectives.

Not bad though.

But I would like to say that the time and money spent watching this movie is definiely worth it.

This is actually the first time that I viewed Joker as something more than a comic book character. No doubt because of Heath Ledger’s performance.

I’d definitely buy a DVD of this movie, so I can watch it anytime I want to.

You can order your coffee, sit inside and listen to muzak or go outside to smoke and people watch. My addiction to it is not really about the coffee. It’s because this is the place where my friends and I bond after a stressful day at work. We get to share our grievances and laugh at amusing anecdotes while drinking our caramel macchiatos or caramel frappuccinos. When my friends and I ask each other if we want to go to Starbucks, it’s really because we want to spend time with each other and just hang out.
