Raul Julia was terrific as the ‘power behind the throne’ in this movie, Sonja Braga as the dictator’s mistress (think “Evita”), and Richard Dreyfus was funny as well. I loved the ending, and won’t give it away here. But I must admit, much as I enjoyed watching this movie again after so long, I liked “Dave” better. Probably because I like Kevin Kline better as an actor than Dreyfus.

Nobody plays r&b guitar like Stevie. He is still greatly missed in the music world. If you want some foot-tapping, get-up-and-dance music, he’s your man. If you want some soul-searching, crying-in-your-beer blues, cue him up. He’s that good.
