A story about "In the Meantime...: Finding Yourself and the Love You Want" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I read this years ago, when I was in the meantime. This book was such a comfort to me. I am releasing it via bookcrossing and hoping that someone else finds it as comforting and inspiring as I did.

A story about "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter (Oprah's Book Club)" — 3 years ago

I read this last year. I probably wouldn’t have finished it if it wasn’t lauded as one of the best books of the 20th century. The characters were memorable, but I’m not sure what I the author intended for the reader to learn.

A story about "Drowning Ruth" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Reminded me a little of a V.C. Andrews book.

A story about "Diary" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was the third book I read by Chuck P. It was okay, but I thought Invisible Monsters and Fight Club were better.

A story about "Darkness Visible: A Memoir of Madness" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This memoir is aptly titled, to me depression really is darkness visible. I read this memoir about depression last year some time. Many say this is the most vivid description of depression out there. No discredit to Styron, I think he did well, but Night In Hell by Rimbaud is the best depiction of depression I have found.

A story about "Bless the Beasts and Children (Enriched Classics)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is the book I was instructed to read in 8th grade. At the time I was with the honor students. We read this while I believe everyone else in class read Lord of the Flies. I reread this last year. I am still trying to figure out why my teacher thought this book was more appropriate for honor students? Don’t get me wrong, I think it is a good book, but I feel like reserving judgement until I read Lord of the Flies and A Seperate Peace (books it has been compared to).

In the meantime I am setting this book free via bookcrossing.

How "Training in Christianity (Vintage Spiritual Classics)" changed my life — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Reading this book has inspired me to strive to meet Kierkegaard’s challenge to live out the call of Christianity in my life’s decisions.
