Maisel Gets Inside a Writer's Head — 3 years ago
And he should. From “About the Author – Write Mind”: “Eric Maisel is a psychotherapist and creativity coach who works with creative and performing artists in his private practice and leads workshops for writers at writers’ conference and other venues. His twenty two works of fiction and nonfiction include: A Life in the Arts, Affirmations for Artists, Fearless Creating, and other books on the creative life. He teaches writing at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California, and holds a Ph.D. in counseling psychology, master’s degrees in creative writing and counseling, and bachelor’s degrees in psychology and philosophy.”
Whew. No wonder he knows what writers need to hear! This is a small, simple book that packs a punch. It is probably the most dog eared book I have in my collection at the moment, and one that sits by my bed for inspiration and motivation whenever I am feeling the urge not to write.
Maisel has a magic about his simple edicts for turning your fears and excuses about writing into forceful positive energy that will get you writing. Period.
