More dramatic than the series, but a nice reinterpretation of the ending, and overall a mildly satisfying way to wrap up the series and answer a lot of questions. Enough original content to provide a new, invigorating storyline for Firefly oldtimers, but gives an excellent recap of the crew/general plot of series/etc for newcomers. I especially appreciate that the writers/director didn’t spend an overwhelming bulk of the movie trying to explain the universe and crew; all the backstory and personalities came naturally.

It’s a shame it had to end so soon. :(

i read this for my animal rights class. it’s a short, ‘breezy’ read, so i see no reason for anyone to pass it up. it’s a nice gateway into the animal rights discussion because it mostly asks questions instead of answering them.

the book details a lot of different sides of the animal rights argument through a fictional narrative. i really liked all the characterizations of for/against arguments (the ‘rational’ wife who seems very cold; the ‘sympathetic’ old mother who, like any grandmother, is endearing).

not sure why i waited so long to watch this after hearing so much about it. . .

amazing, beautiful, and funny series, extraordinarily written. lovable, redeeming characters. incredible acting. etc etc etc. much, much love for this show.

i also recommend the movie; good overview and some followup for the ending.
