A story about "Black Russian" — 3 years ago
This is perhaps my favorite cocktail. As long as it’s prepared correctly. A bad bartender will tend to put more Kahlua than vodka. It should be basically a 2:1 ratio of vodka to Kahlua.

Despite the fact that there were moments I found quite funny, it wasn’t very entertaining on the whole. Steve Martin did a very good job with the role, though. I did not like Kevin Kline at all. I thought he was just crap at almost every scene he did.
Sometimes it’s ok but most of the time it just makes you feel sick. I find eating smaller amounts on the plane is the best way to go anyway.
This is starting to grow on me like a good old 80s band but with a new modern twist.
I actually think this richer and more interesting than their last release Hot Fuss.
The verdict is still out. Listened to it a couple times.
It didn’t strike me as much or as quickly as Hot Fuss. But I’m not giving up yet. I may not have given it a fair chance yet.
Absolutely awesome! Proving once again Beck’s ability to combine existing styles into an innovative sound and emotion.
But that’s only because there’s not enough pieces before hand. Not even a hint at something. But trying not to give away the ending, it’s a good film. I just didn’t like the end.
A nice performance from Meg Ryan. There’s a good scratching of the surface of her character. But not much resolution.
There’s lots of monsters. Lots of action. Lots of the beautiful Kate Beckinsale (well, maybe not enough, though). But just too much in the story. Pulling from multiple ‘old-school’ monster stories to create one plot line was hard to take. Although, if you can get past some of the cheesy directions the story takes, it’s an enjoyable film if you like the genre.
But it’s a classic in France. And I have embrassed it.
It’s…ok. A man who’s life just isn’t what he was hoping for. Divorced, not sure how to deal with his kids, sees himself in the shadow of his father, unhappy professionally. Trying to resolve it all.
But the film, on the whole, doesn’t go anywhere. There are subjects, though, that could have been exploited, deepened. Such as the place archery took in this life. Or how he desperately looks to do the right thing with his children.
Is this a book? I don’t know. If it is, I’d like to read it, hoping that these subjects were more fully developed.
On the whole, it’s not a bad film. Just not a really good one. I won’t discourage you from seeing it. But this is no more than a renter.
