I discovered Natureboy because I’m a fan of Kelli Scarr’s music. Both artists blend electro-pop and folk rock. Natureboy’s songs are deceptively simple, haunting, and catchy. She has a gift for melody that is truly ethereal, and her song lyrics are arresting. Natureboy’s voice is reminiscent of Santogold and Aimee Mann, but this music doesn’t lend itself easily to comparisons. Listen to a few tracks and your only complaint will be that this album makes you want to hear more immediately. Natureboy leaves listeners insatiable.
