Why I recommend "The Wednesday Letters" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Everybody needs to read this book before you fall in love, get married, have kids, or really, do anything at all.

A story about "Kolyma Tales (Classic, 20th-Century, Penguin)" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

An eerie, haunting book. It’s terrifying simply because it’s so stoical and detached.

Errors? — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was a wonderful book, but I’m not giving it 5 stars because there were TYPOS. Like, “you’re” instead of “your”, misplaced quotation marks, that sort of thing. I don’t get it. Who edited this thing? It’s ridiculously full of errors.

Why It Doesn't Get a 5 — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It WOULD get a 5, if not for the constant rambling about God and whatnot. I understand this is “Christian fiction”, but why ruin a perfectly good storyline like that? It just got incredibly tedious. Plus, EVERYSINGLE main character in the story is devoutly religious, and that’s just…not realistic.

Still a great story though, if you ignore all the Christian dogma.

How "It's Kind of a Funny Story: A Novel" changed my life — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book gave me a totally new perspective on depression and other psychological problems. It was a fascinating read and I’d recommend it to, like, anyone.

A story about "The Scarlet Letter (Penguin Classics)" — 6 years ago

Personally, I think I would’ve loved this book if I weren’t reading it for school. I love philosophy, psychology, and all that. But in school, they made us rip it apart, overanalyze it, and not enjoy at all the beautiful language and the philosophical and psychological theories it presents. Thanks for nothing, education.

How "How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got A Life: A Novel" changed my life — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

You know, I don’t care if this book was plagiarized off another book. This was one of the best books I’ve ever read. It gave me so many insights on life. About happiness and doing what you love. I’m glad I read this now because I think it’ll help me get through the 3 years of high school I have left.

A story about "The Jungle: The Uncensored Original Edition" — 6 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Wow. I must say, the only reason I read this was because it’s my summer Honors English 10 assignment. But anyways, this is the most communist, liberal, radical, anti-Semitic, racist piece of garbage I have ever read.

I admit. This is an excellent book.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Don’t get me wrong; this was a great book. Very informational and humorously written. But I did get sick to all the references to God, and how when looking for a boyfriend you should find a Christian one, and how “we” are Christians and whatnot. Whole chapters were about making a “contract” with God about not having sex before marriage. I HATE it when books, movies, music, people, society, whatever assume that EVERYONE in America is Christian! This is a major turn-off for this book.

However, if that’s ignored, the book’s great. Except for the fact that the viewpoints in it are sometimes ridiculously conservative, saying that kissing is as far as dating teens should go and that making out is too much.

But, aside from that, it’s a good insight into the minds of the opposite sex.
