Nice book, yet... — 2 years ago
Well, the book is good, no doubt about it. It captures the mood of late 18th century Bengal. But there are way too many characters, and the meaning of the dialogues is sometimes lost (perhaps I need to read it again). The best part about the book is easily the wonderful words used (I’ve read the Hindi translation available on Diamond books) and, undoubtedly, the National Song of India, Vande Mataram.
