A story about "Elvis: The Mini-Series" — 35 weeks ago

The sound editing in this mini series is awful, the story gets a little weak from time to time, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers makes a much better glam rocker (ala Velvet Goldmine) than and Elvis… but he is is endearing to watch anyway, and most of the other acting is good as well. It is difficult, though, to get past Cousin Eddy as the Colonel.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Critics of this show claim that it is impossible to get past the historical inaccuracies it presents. Anybody who whines about the exact details is definitely taking the series too seriously. The Tudors is an excellent series that just so happens to be based on Henry VIII and his many love affairs. The acting is fantastic (especially from Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the reason I started watching) and the story is intriguing. If you take this show for what it is and leave your history book closed, you’ll really enjoy it.
Side note: It is on Showtime, so it is guaranteed to be full of smut.

One of my favorite things about fall is this latte from Starbucks. It is worth waiting all year for!

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is the third collection of Gaiman’s short stories that I have read, and I enjoyed it very much. The stories were well-selected and had a nice flow. “The Price” actually brought tears to my eyes. This is well suited for a younger audience, but it is also dark enough for and older audience.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A flawless album about the devil terrorizing a small town. The final track, “End of the Line,” is my favorite closing track ever.

Not terrible, but I would recommend the book instead.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love almost everything Neil Gaiman, but I didn’t enjoy this as much as Smoke and Mirrors. There were many good stories, but a handful that I could’ve done without. I’m not saying this isn’t worth reading… I just wish my expectations had been slightly lower. Sunbird was the highlight, in my opinion.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I read this book a dozen times, I’m sure, when I was younger. It is marketed for young adults but contains some pretty heavy themes. I’ve always thought of this book as quite the eye opener.
