A review of "Addison's Wall" — 3 years ago
Addison’s Wall is one of those films. You know, those amazing works of art which has a way of concentrating the essence of an emotion to such a pure, distilled form that you can’t recall having had any other emotion before. One of those films where you are transported by image after stunning image to another state of existence. One of those carefully crafted black and white films where the absence of color onscreen serves as a new palette from which Director David Waingarten paints the hue and tenor of the story.
“Director David Waingarten coaxes powerhouse performances from his cast…intelligently wrings a queasy, devastating beauty from almost nothing at all.” -Metro Newspaper
“Tells a story of grief and survival in gorgeously realized black and white that brings to mind the French New Wave, making even the most mundane details strikingly beautiful — not to be missed.” -Portland Tribune
