Why I recommend "Milk Chocolate Bar" — 48 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Oh, classic milk chocolate, take me away!

It just doesn’t get any better than a Hershey’s chocolate bar, and this is coming from a certified chocoholic. Chocolate bars made by the Hershey’s company are good as either a snack or dessert, or if you really want your chocolate fix, there’s now the 1/2-Pound Bar. I kid you not.

The dark chocolate bars are good too, but only in small doses for me. The only Hershey’s chocolate bar I’ll never understand is the Milk Chocolate with Almonds. Ugh. Why would you want to go and ruin perfectly good chocolate by adding nuts?? Oh, well. To each his or her own.

Why I recommend "Strawberries with Sugar" — 48 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Man, there is nothing like strawberries covered in sugar! The strawberry juice and the sugar make for a sweet and tasty snack (or dessert if you’re trying to eat a little healthier). What I like to do is cut the strawberries into halves, put them on a plate or in a bowl, sprinkle lots and lots of sugar, and eat them with a fork. It may seem weird that I eat them with some kind of utensil, but that way, I can also roll the strawberries around in the sugary juice before sticking them in my mouth. Plus, I can avoid a sticky mess.

Why I recommend "Two Tickets to Paradise" — 48 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie came on by chance last week while my fiance and I were playing Uno with his brother. And I gotta say, it’s hilarious! Unfortunately, it’s hard as hell to find on DVD, especially to own.

The movie, which actually came out a couple of years ago, stars John C. McGinley, who everyone best remembers from Scrubs, and D.B. Sweeney, my future mother-in-law’s favorite actor. Well, him and James McAvoy. Anyway, McGinley, Sweeney, and one of their buddies take a road trip to the Championship Bowl after said friend wins a couple of tickets at work (hence the title). Along the way, they re-evaluate their lives while getting themselves into outrageous situations. In fact, at one point, they accidentally drive their car into a river, and find they left the tickets in the glove compartment.

Now, I know the plot makes it sound like your typical road trip/buddy movie, but let me assure you, typical it is not. It’s definitely worth seeing, though I’ll warn y’all that you might want to avoid this movie if you’re uncomfortable with a little bit of coarse language and drug use (at one point, they get high off a bag of ‘shrooms). And here’s some trivia: D.B. also directed and co-wrote the film, and his wife is played by Moira Kelly, who also played his love interest in The Cutting Edge.
