I added a copy of this movie to my DVD collection yesterday. I feel like the storyline could’ve been made a little more coherent (and a bit longer! ;_;) but the two worlds, characters and animation make up for it in my mind.

I was introduced to the Tales of Redwall through this book by that one bookclub that I used to be in. This is still my favourite book in the series, and Mariel is my favorite character of Jacques. She’s by far the strongest and coolest female character in the series. I waaant to know more about her life with Dandin after Southsward. :3

I read this one as part of that same bookclub I’ve been mentioning a lot of. I remember feeling very emotionally caught up in this story of an autistic boy whose only friend is his cat, although I admit that I can’t really remember much of the story at all.. I should re-read.

The story of a girl rendering herself mute after a horrific event is a story easy to get very emotionally attached to. I love you, John Marsden. <3

I owe every creative bone in my body to Philip Pullman’s trilogy here. I read Northern Lights (or The Golden Compass) because it was required reading for my school bookclub, felt deeply changed by it, and managed to track down the rest of the series over the course of the next three years.

I shed a few tears after reading the first book, and a few more after concluding the trilogy.. a habit I have only just showed signs of breaking out of. XD

The concepts in these books are unlike anything else I’ve read. The characters are WONDERFUL and the books are impossible to put down. My only beef with them is that they don’t go on for several more volumes. ;o;

..yet. ^_

I remember lugging this book along to my school bookclub meeting at the age of twelve and showing it to my group. They were all like; “You.. read.. that?” I guess it seemed a bit old for me. ^^;

BUT AW. Michener is king. It’s a work of fiction interwoven with factual events and admittedly, I have never really read up on the actual history of Alaska, but I think it’s very well done.

Sadly, I think this is the only book of his that I have read (besides an anthology focussing on the parts of his books concerned with the animal kingdom), but I will soon change this.

My friend works at the local library and he had this book on him full of these wonderful pictures. So I weasled it off him for a loooong time, and have rented it myself several times since.

If I ever see this in a bookshop, I’m going to go rabid with lust. Susan Seddon-Boulet’s art is facinating and the odd poem that has been coupled with several of the peices really makes it all the more wonderful.

Woo. This book is big and heavy. X_X

But VERY informative touching on the myths and legends of a wide variety of cultures, even if some are more touched upon than others.
