Francis Veber is an unrecognized comic master. The Dinner Game is his best though.

A little intense, and over-dramatized, I’m sure.
Pretty bad but still watchable…it got better as it went on. Still, it’s fluff.
I can’t believe that that other book won the Booker. This book demonstrates virtuosity in an unshowy, organic manner. So strong, I haven’t read its like in years.
This is so incredibly not worth consuming, especially when you know and love the original. I knew that sight unseen, but I was having pms, and it was on USA…What the hell. When are good actors gonna get the clue that making remakes isn’t a great idea? I am gonna start boycotting remakes flat out.
I too got the first copy from our local library, as I have been dying to read this since October, when I heard about it while I was in London. It was alright. I admit I was confused by the whole moon-priestess thing. Were we supposed to take it as what really went on, or as supposition? In the end, just a sad tale about a couple that didn’t love eachother.
So bad. Not even so bad it’s good. Avoid it. Why does Heather Graham always play porn stars?
I don’t get all the hubub about this movie. I am grateful that it’s not yet another example of Woody some how seducing a 24 year old, but I don’t get his fascination with Russian Literature…as this plot was a clear nod to Crime and Punishment. I feel like Rhys-Meyer’s character didn’t really have a character, but that woody was trying to hint at something struggle going on within him that just wasn’t there. In fact…this movie was totally predictable, nothing that hadn’t been done before. Just refurbished in gorgeous scenery and gorgeous leads.
It’s OK, there are parts I like and parts I don’t. I obviously have a girlcrush on Sylvie Testud. Paul Rudd always has a corner of my heart, and the black guy in his underwear is a funny scene…but I don’t know if I could manage to sit through it again.
