A story about "A Civil Campaign: A Comedy of Biology and Manners" — 6 years ago
Another wonderful book by Bujold. Romance and politics (what a combination) this time, instead of spaceadventure!, but Bujold does it all, and does it well.
A story about "Death: The High Cost of Living" — 6 years ago
I’m still new to comics, but this was very excellent, as Gaiman is wont to be. As always new and thought-provoking perspective.
A story about "Babel-17/Empire Star" — 6 years ago
Wow, amazing. I’ll definitely need to read this one again.
A story about "Farmer in the Sky" — 6 years ago
Not Heinlein’s greatest work, by far, but still an interesting and entertaining read.
A story about "The Valley of Horses" — 6 years ago
This took a while to get into, and parts are very repetitive if you read it immediately after the first book, but still a wonderful sequel.
A story about "The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, Book 1)" — 6 years ago
BV and I always have an argument about the quality of the Harry Potter books, and it always ends with her telling me that there is better children’s fantasy out there, such as Pullman. And then I say I haven’t read Pullman, and she refuses to continue arguing until I go read Pullman (and probably a half dozen others, but I have to start somewhere).
A story about "A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters" — 6 years ago
Hehehe… I really think Barnes does manage a History of the World in the stated number of chapters, and still leaves one chuckling at the end. Though I might contend with some of his views on love, but that’s another story. I admit I started reading just to figure out how a half-chapter could exist, but overall a good read.
