Wow, what a wonderful introduction to graphic novels. I couldn’t put it down. It’s dark, and yet raises quite a lot of interesting philosophical questions, and the art is gorgeous. A must read, even if you’ve never read a graphic novel.

I like the person on allconsuming who defined this as “Victoriana and arse-kicking combined”. It’s good stuff.

One of my best friend recommended this series to me, and while it sounded strange at first, I was quickly swept up in it. Definitely recommended.

If you haven’t read LMB, you should. She’s amazing.
