The writing is gorgeous. The story…eh. I guess I’ve just read too many books like this for it to really make an impression on me. It was entertaining for what it was, but I didn’t feel a driving need to finish it…which is probably why it took me so long.

Much as this isn’t my kind of movie…I laughed, I cried. Gotta give it points for that.

I love this movie. And I didn’t expect to. I actually fell asleep the first time I watched it…the beginning was pretty slow. I woke up and got sucked into the story, so I searched back through the disk to the last part I remembered and paid more attention. Now I own it.

If you liked the book, the movie will disappoint you. Personally, I’d rather have seen Brad Pitt play Lestat…I think he’d have done a better job. However, I did kind of understand the casting of Tom Cruise after the last 5 minutes of the movie. I just wish he’d carried that persona through the rest of it.

As far as I recall, it was worth consuming…I was in grade school when I got this album. :)

My mother ordered this; it was supposed to be in Thursday, but it wasn’t. No word on whether it’s come in or not. But I’ll get to read it first, since Mom buys books faster than she can read them.

I’m currently tiding myself over by rereading The Book of Joe.
