Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Firefly - The Complete Series" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Well, I sort of abandoned it after watching the first two episodes because I was also watching the last two seasons of Buffy and Angel. But I’ve finished watching them now and I hope I’ll finish this one by the end of this weekend.

A review of "Twilight" — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This book was a HUGE waste of my time and money. I can’t believe how my friends thought this book was brilliant but Pride & Prejudice was “dull and just plain stupid”. This was a terrible book, in my opinion.

Basically this is the story (SPOILERS):
Oh my BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward hates me!Oh, yay BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward and I had the dullest conversation ever where he tried very hard to be clever, mysterious and cryptic and I ate it up like ice cream!Oh, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward is so BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, & HUNKY!Oh I love BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward even though he’s a vampire! Dun dun dun! But BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward loves me too and has sworn to protect me and then keeps contradicting himself about how he will keep me safe.Ooh, he’s soooo mysterious and dreamy!Oh no, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward says I will die!Oh no, I am dying BUT BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward TO THE RESCUE! YAY!Oh I want to be a vampire because I love BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward but he won’t let me!THE END.Note from author: don’t worry folks, there’ll be more of dull story in my next six or so books about BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, HUNKY Edward and the dull and dim Bella and her desire to become a vampire because she’s in love! So REJOICE!

Or you know GAG

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Well, my friends all told me how absolutely, breathtakingly wonderful this book is. And how it was so so good they read it in a day. So I went out and bought it and so far it’s DEFINITELY NOT living up to its hype. I’m on page 300 and something and the same thing’s been happening. And I hate the characters and I really hate how Bella keeps saying what a gorgeous hunk Edward is. And Edward keeps talking about what a wonderful scrumptious scent Bella has. So I guess “true love/first love” is all about looks and scents. Plus the author tries to sound all poetic and lyrical but it just doesn’t work. The “love story” is so friggin’ contrived!
And isn’t this supposed to be a suspense?

This is what makes me hate teen fiction sometimes. It’s the same old story trying to be something it’s not. And where there’s supposed to be suspense, there’s really nothing more than dull characters talking about the same dull things over and over and OVER. Ugh! Thank god for authors like John Green, Sarah Dessen, Libba Bray and David Levithan.

My all consuming summary of August, 2007 — 2 years ago

So August was all about Buffy. I watched from Season 2 – 6. Season 2 & 3 are definitely my favourites (along with Season 1). The other Seasons were not that great (Season 6 was terrible, Season 4 as a whole sucked but had some great stand alone episodes and Angel beating the crap out of Riley(!!!) and Season 5 was okay.) Also started watching Firefly. It’s interesting. I like it even though I’ve only watched two episodes so far. Superbad was AWESOME! Also watched the first two seasons of Angel. It was okay. Started reading Twilight and it’s definitely not living up to it’s hype. I prefer my vampire tales from the Jossverse, I guess. Also, Nutella is the best thing in the world. EVER.

My all consuming summary of July, 2007 — 2 years ago

Got hooked on Friday Night Lights and Buffy. Both shows are seriously awesome. Read the last Harry Potter which was good as well. Stood in line at midnight and everything… Finally watched Goodfellas which was really good as well. Bought and re-watched Veronica Mars Seasons 1 &2 and all three seasons of Arrested Development.

My all consuming summary of June, 2007 — 2 years ago

I finally watched all of Veronica Mars Season 3. I didn’t hate it. It definitely wasn’t as brilliant as first season and Piz made me want to drive my fist through the wall but I still liked it. Once a fan, always a fan I guess. But it’s over and I want to kill that bastard who’s head of CW or whatever and didn’t like the show. God, why must good shows get canceled and crap like The Simple Life still be on air? WHY?? Ahem, anyways. Finally bought Rats Saw God, another masterpiece by Rob Thomas. Also watched Hot Fuzz, which I highly recommend because it’ll make you laugh very, very hard. Like rolling on the ground-clutching your sides-crying kinda funny. It was really great and I can’t wait to watch Shaun of the Dead. Also finally watched Knocked Up which was also hilarious except the birth scene made us a little queasy. Little is actually an understatement. Curse of the Golden Flower was really beautiful. It must have cost a lot. Started watching Alan Partridge again as I never got a chance to finish watching it last time. Looking for Alaska was awesome. Can’t wait to read his second book. And I finally read Girl which was pretty good but I prefer Rats Saw God and stuff by Sarah Dessen, Libba Bray, Rachel Cohn and Carolyn Mackler when it comes to YA novels.

My all consuming summary of May, 2007 — 2 years ago

Read a ton of YA novels. I am now a fan of Carolyn Mackler. She’s really good. I’ve also become addicted to Degrassi: TNG. I don’t know how it happened but they started showing the reruns on CTV and I got hooked. But I still can’t find Season 5 though… I am also a huge fan of Rachel Cohn now. Now these are YA writers that write really good books that you aren’t ashamed to be seen reading or feel the need to vomit when you read their work. Also watched Spiderman 3 which was pretty good except for the end which went out of it’s way to be as corny and cheesy as it could. Plus the fact that James Franco snuffs it in that scene. But evil Peter Parker was way hotter than geeky Peter Parker. And I still haven’t finished watching the Twin Peaks Movie.

My all consuming summary of April, 2007 — 2 years ago

This month I watched a lot of Bollywood movies. The one I liked was Ek Lavya because it was short and different and didn’t have all that extra crap. I don’t think I am going to be watching any more Bollywood movies except for the ones that the guy who made Ek Lavya comes out with. Anyways, I finally listened to Born Ruffians. I liked them and I really likes the album. I finally found the Pump Up The Volume dvd in store (Walmart) for only 5 bucks! And Dogtown & Z-boys and The Ice Storm for 5 dollars each as well. For that I will forever love and hate Walmart. I finally watched Skins, the UK show about a group of teenagers. It was totally awesome! I absolutely loved, LOVED it. I wish I was going to parties like the ones in the show as well. Damn! I can’t wait until January for Series 2. And I love Skins for making me start listening to Cat Stevens again. I really love this month for discovering Skins.
