A story about "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm" — 1 year ago

A new use for Bert’s Bees! A fresh tube accidentally found its way through the washer and dryer. The result? NO DAMAGE and GREAT Smelling clothes!

So when will the Berts boys start doing laundry additives for real?

A story about "GrandCentral" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This service gives users a free phone number in just about any US area code. You can tell the service what to do when someone dials this number—from calling multiple phones at once, or going straight to voice mail.

We use it at our condo by having the box at the front door dial the GrandCentral number – which then calls my wife AND me at the same time. That way, whichever of us is at home waiting can get the call and answer the door.

I’ve wanted my grandmother to have this system – that way we could dial one number no matter which phone she is nearest.

A story about "BasecampHQ" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

BasecampHQ is a really powerful online project management system for organizations that don’t want to pay the cost of highly customized, made-to-order systems. Because it is web based, it is naturally “networkable” and easily accessed by those who need it. It’s also available from a number of “vanity” urls including ProjectPath.com… ...which allows companies to conceal the secret to their success. (My supervisor was very impressed when he saw how another company was using this system—unaware that we already use it internally).

Great stuff.

Why I recommend "Microfiber sponge" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

We’ve had the same one for a month and it doesn’t get smelly! It goes in the washing machine, has the perfect balance of grit and softness – it’s the best!

A review of "Oil on the Brain: Adventures from the Pump to the Pipeline" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Margonelli attempts to trace gasoline upstream from the gas station, the delivery system, refineries and even back to the wells. An interesting read until she gets a little carried away with verbose historical details about the counties that dominate the second half of her book: Venezuela, Chad, Iran and Nigeria. (I skimmed these parts). A quick read. If you like this, try Sabastian Junger’s article in Vanity Fair Blood Oil
