Why I recommend "Get to Work: . . . And Get a Life, Before It's Too Late" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a super quick read! I didn’t agree with everything in here, but it did help me frame the entire so-called Mommy Wars. not sure if anyone not interested in that debate would enjoy it or get anything else out of what is already out in the media/blogs.

Why I recommend "Fledging- Octavia E Butler" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It turns the whole world of vampires on its head. Careful thou, this book was meant to be in a series, so it does leave you wanting more!

WORTH CONSUMING!

I have to admit that immediately finishing this book, I was on the fence. It wasn’t until I let it simmer in my head that I really liked it. My whole review is at my blog as well as a conversation with the author.

Must read — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I just ate this story up. It’s an easy read text wise, but horribly difficult to read in the sense that Butler does an amazing job at humanizing the narrator as well as detailing the life of slaves and constructing a complex social network that they lived in.

A story about "Emotionally Involved: The Impact of Researching Rape" — 9 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Chilling…it’s for class, but I already think everyone should read this book.
