Confusing and disappointing — 3 years ago
I’m a big fan of Tibor Fischer’s other novels, loved them all. This had the occasional moment of brilliance but for the most part was just mediocre. The basic premise – Oceane a woman (an improbable ‘computer graphics designer’) who won’t leave the house hires Audley, an unsuccessful mercenary, to find out what happened to her ex-boyfriend, and accompanies* him via some dubious videophone technology – is interesting enough, but the story stagnates in Spain and the ending is just trite.
Worth consuming, but only just. Borrow it, don’t buy it.
