So it turns out that I had to return this to the library before I had a chance to finish it. But I recently bought it; I’m going to reread The Eyre Affair and then go back to this one!

What a delightful book! It’s no surprise why this book won the Hugo award for best novel in 1999. Willis seems to be one of those authors who can actually stick to the age-old adage to “Show, not tell”, and the result is a fast-paced tumble through time with some wonderful characters.
