I was really surprised that I liked it so much. I’ve always thought of it as a guy’s magazine and boring. Well they do cater to guys, but it’s got great info in it and lots and lots of gadgets.

If you don’t try to compare this with the Gene Wilder version, you’ll be ok. I never got any MJ vibes, so was ok on that point. I didn’t like the whole dentist father flashback thingy, which wasn’t part of the book and really shows. Deep Roy was great as the oompa loompas.
and I’m really ticked if they leave out the cherry at the bottom
I love this movie and have seen it many times. Can’t get enough of it. Those ‘sweet’ old ladies and ‘Teddy’ charging up the stairs/hill. Cary Grant’s facial expressions are a riot as well.
I go through and mark on my calendar when the new shows I want to start. The anticipation is splendiferous. Then it’s fun to guess what show will make it and hope your new favorite is a hit.
I have seen other adaptations but this version remains my favorite.
I love Greer Garson in this role.
