Why I recommend "The Newcomes (Penguin Classics)" — 2 years ago
Better than Vanity Fair in my opinion, though a little boring at the end, because Clive Newcome is a moron.

These books are very interesting, and written with humor and style as well as intelligence.
First, this book contains summaries of many different hero stories from many different areas, and that’s obviously a big job. Also, the author is trying to appeal to children as well as adults, so she cleaned up some of the tales a bit. Personally, I’d prefer an unadulterated (more correctly, unchildated) version of all of the stories rather than a cleaned up summary. However, this is a good place to start, or something to relax with if you already know quite a bit about mythology. I know a lot, but not everything about every country’s mythology, so I learned a little. Finally, there’s a small editing problem. There are at least two places in the book where graphics cover text, something that should have been noticed by the person inserting the pictures, and certainly by the editor.
On the whole, an okay book for beginners, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone looking for serious, detailed information.
These are hilarious. It wasn’t as good when they started to switch out important characters, but still, watch it!
SOOOOOOOOO funny. My favorite is Blackadder II.
First Final Fantasy I ever played. Best game ever!
I know this is a classic, and I like to read classics, but I found this exceedingly boring. The most interesting parts were when Don Quixote was out of the picture for a while.
This is awful. I couldn’t even finish it, and I NEVER leave a book unfinished, whether I like it or not. DON’T read it.
This is really awesome. I can watch it over and over. It’s not just music, but a little bit of travel info on Alaska. You get to see the places they are performing before and/or after they perform. Reviews on amazon say the sound quality isn’t as good as when it was on TV, but I never saw it on TV, so I love it.
Don’t get this expecting the usual high quality of the Goo Goo Dolls’ stuff. Even if you have JED, you aren’t prepared for this one. This is for hardcore fans and collectors. I personally don’t listen to it often, and the Goo Goo Dolls are my favorite band. I recommend it, but only for those seriously wanting a complete collection, due to the price generally charged for it.
