A story about "how the Laws of Physics Lie" — 1 year ago
Surprisingly well-written. It’s been some time since I read a philosophy book that reads as smoothly as this one.
I'm currently reading 48 books, listening to 9 albums, watching 1 movie, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 1 other thing.

This isn’t as good as Bernhard’s other novels. It sounds young and pretentious - and indeed, it was published when he was 32. The main characters again are quite crazy, but not in as interesting a way as the characters in his later book. I’m still planning to finish it, but it’s depressing me.
I read this for Johnson’s stories, but Ghose’s stories were much better. Worth it for the Ghose.
A great read so far (80 pages in). I can really relate to the characters’ isolation and hopelessness.
Found the last 20 pages or so too tedious.
The 1st symphony is way too slow. Ugh. Chicago brass saves the day, just about.
Not too thrilled by the D960 piano sonata, but the lieder, especially ‘Viola’, are superb.
Love the horns in the last movement. The trumpets are too shrill for my taste though. Fischer-Dieskau is, well, Fischer-Dieskau.
