An excellent read, although the last few chapters aren’t quite as good as the rest of the book.
Science fiction that has enough fiction to appeal to even those that don’t normally read sci-fi.
This books explores the geographic fatalism behind the European dominance of the world in the recent past.
A delightfully written book that opens a window onto the mysterious realm of the geisha.
A well written novel that takes an introspective look at the art of writing novels and provides some rare insights into topics like love and war along the way. The character interaction is very enjoyable and the changes in perspective between the main characters works quite well. I recommend it to anybody looking for thought-provoking fiction.
I just finished reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I had an “aha!” moment well before I got halfway through the book and was already satisfied with that but then the author just kept hitting me with more of them. It rekindled some things I’d once known but from which I’d been swayed and inspired me to see life in new ways. I look forward to the sequel.
