Why I recommend "Basket Case (20th Anniversary Special Edition)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

“Wow” is all I have to say! I am a huge fan of the bizarre, and thus I adored this movie. I think it takes a certain sense of humor to appreciate, but if you’ve got that sense of humor you’ll love it. It is truly demented in the most endearing way possible.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a cool little old school sci-fi/horror movie from Japan. It’s really not as cheesy as one would expect- the characters are well developed, the acting is relatively good, and the monster scenes are super atmospheric, crazy, and cool. The first half of the movie is a bit slow, but it’s a nessecary set up. As I stated earlier I love the characterization in this movie- you get to see people who are used to being pampered really work to survive. If “mushroom monsters” sounds intriguing to you- check it out!

A story about "Ichi the Killer (Uncut Special Edition)" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Just watched this movie for the first time the other day. While it was gory, I don’t think it’s anywhere near as bad as some people make it out to be in that area. I thought the story could have used a bit of tightening, and that the movie ran a bit too long. That said, I would aboslutely reccomend this movie for people looking for something off the beaten path. Kakihara, the blonde character on the DVD cover, is sick, twisted, and totally original- much like this movie itself! Also, I feel I should mention the humor in this movie- which is dark and unconventional but way more prevelant than most people mention.
