WORTH CONSUMING!

This is the first “mindbendy” movie I have watched in along time in which I didn’t have the ending completely figured out 20 minutes in. That makes it worth consuming on it’s own, but it also had a stellar cast (with the possible exception of Naomi Watts who more than anyone really seems like she’s “acting” )and excellent visuals. I even found myself catching onto things even the next day that I hadn’t quite put together.

A review of "Shaun of the Dead" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love zombie movies. Just a soft spot of mine. I enjoy the good with the bad. I love a good gore effect, but I also enjoy a bad gore effect. I have seen many a zombie movie in my time and Shaun Of The Dead is easily one of my favourites. It’s so funny and the Shaun character is so likable. I had seen it before and it really was just as good the second time around.

A review of "Inner Senses (Special Edition)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I liked Inner Senses. Yes, it has ghosts in it, but it’s more of a character study. A Person’s actions will always come back to haunt them.

Unfortunately, I think the most unsettling things about this film is knowing the lead actor, Leslie Cheung commited suicide by jumping off a building shortly after this movie was released. Jumping off a building was a big part of this movie.

WORTH CONSUMING!

After seeing the trailer for this, I had really low expectations. It was actually pretty cute, though. There were a few parts that had me laughing. I was pleasantly surprised.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I have not read the book so I can’t compare them, but I really loved the movie. It was a little bit quirky, a little bit funny, a little bit sweet and a little bit sad. Very enjoyable.

A review of "Cronos" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I really enjoyed Cronos. It is a psuedo vampire film, but it’s not a horror film at all. It’s really about the relationship between a young girl and her grandfather. The main reason I liked it was because it was different. The makeup effects weren’t the best, but that was really my only small complaint. They weren’t horrible by any means.

As far as Guillermo Del Toro goes… I do prefer The Devil’s Backbone. However, I love that one so much that it wouldn’t really be fair for me to compare anything to it. My brother though, did like Cronos better.

On a side note, I really don’t know what the cover has to do with the movie. It shows the Cronos Device on a young woman, yet there were no young women in the film aside from the child?

WORTH CONSUMING!

Very much a “chick flick”. Not much to it, just a simple and very sweet little movie.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I didn’t know much about it, but from the title I thought it was going to be a regular horror movie. I thought it was really funny!

WORTH CONSUMING!

The first twenty to thirty minutes were hard for me to watch. Not because of the violence, but because the damn camera was moving in spirals and circles the entire time! If I had been watching this on the big screen I would probably have gotten motion sickness. I understand artistically why they did that during the club scene, but maybe the effect should have been lessened a little bit?

Other than that it really was an interesting film. Disturbing of course, but…I really don’t know how to describe it. It’s a challenging film. Not particularly enjoyable, but worth watching all the same.
