NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Aaaagh. I guess this shows I’m not a true “film” aficianado as I just didn’t get this movie. I’ve enjoyed other Coen bros. films, but watching this one was like scraping my fingernails on a chalkboard. Please explain what I’m missing here.

WORTH CONSUMING!

My absolute favorite western.

Chief Dan George steals the show with his great deadpan delivery of priceless lines.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I thought I would hate this… it seemed rather creepy from the trailers but Johnny Depp was brilliant! i LOVED this version (and still have fondness for the Gene Wilder version from my childhood)

WORTH CONSUMING!

Read this last year – my recollection is that enjoyed the book although it could have used some heavy cutting somewhere in the middle. Jane Eyre meets Harry P. trite I know, but the best quick summary I can think of.

The navel oranges from Florida are really great right now… sweet and juicy, yum!

A glimpse into another world — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I enjoy fiction that opens a door to a place I’ve never been. Hosseini gives us a glimpse into Afghanistan in the 70s & 80s, expatriate life in the US in the 90s, and a small look at the Taliban era. He paints a universal portrait of love, jealousy, betrayal, guilt & redemption. There are few brutal scenes that are difficult to get past, but carry on – the book is worth finishing!

A story about "cherry coke" — 3 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I must admit my weakness for Cherry Coke. I just can’t purchase it anymore. I don’t need the ridiculous number of calories for something that has no nutritional value & probably rots my teeth. So farewell Cherry Coke.
