This particular part of the series feels like it’s still moving the story along, but not doing much for your guts. I wasn’t as into this as I have been the other books in the series. It feels shorter as well, a little more rushed, than the other parts have been, but I’m sure it’s just setting the stage for the rest of the play.
The music is awesome in this. I love the idea that there were three sexes until the gods got angry and split everyone in two and people are just trying to reattach themselves to each other when they get it on. That’s better than a lot of religious myths I’ve heard.
Amazing short story collection. Whenever I lend this one out I have to buy a new copy because no one gives it back.
Christmas morning, my brother and I huddled around my new oversized copy of The Pro and read it. He didn’t let me turn the pages until he’d finished reading the one we were on.
I met the artist at a Baltimore comic con before I’d ever heard of the book. She was awful nice. I was more impressed when I googled her later on, after my sister made such a big deal about having met her, that she’d worked on Soul Searchers. My sister is the one who’s into comics. I read everything.
It’s an awesome book. Really well drawn. A hooker gets super powers. Deliciously satirical hijinks ensue.
If you liked Transmetropolitan or Watchmen, you’ll love it.
